Hi, I'm Tim. You may know me as TJ from L2K. On the following pages are a few of my experiences from Burning Man '99. Last year, I started a list of Life Goals. One of them was to "make a lasting impression on a large number of people at Burning Man." This year, I was lucky enough to participate in building a large-scale art project with an incredible team of people. The L2K crew are a rather eclectic bunch, but we were all drawn together by Tim "The Wizard" Black's vision. We built and installed our instrument: 2000 lights in a monumentally large circle around the Man, then learned to play it from 1/3 mile away. "Action at a distance" is a major understatement. We laughed, we cried, we worked our asses off. It was much better than "Cats." I hope I succeeded in my goal. :)
