The Ring:

    43 harnesses (5 boards/harness)
        wiring, connectors, rope
        200 control boards
            --pic, big cap, resistors, etc.
    each board controlled 10 lights
    each light individually addressable
    24-bit packet, bit-serial protocol (packet forwarding/simplified token-ring)
    Power:   
        8 golf cart batteries distributed around the ring and buried
        power distributed & regulated
        light sensors in pods
            automatic shutoff at dawn
            ring lighting at dusk - ceremony

The Light Pods:

    each one lovingly hand-crafted
    (picture)
    3" clear acrylic lens with superbright orange LED embedded (cast in a solar oven)
    3 pound concrete base, cast in styrofoam breakfast bowls
    center hole
    wires (stripped, connectors) soldered to LED leads
    latex/acrylic (?) adhesive
    2211 complete pods + plenty of spare parts

The Pattern Buffer Lounge:

    button board panels
    12/13 button boards per panel
        10 buttons
        10 lights (green LED's)
        pic, caps, etc.
    the master computer (pattern buffer computer)
        8-bit microcontroller (Z80-core + peripherals)
        operating environment, hand-coded by the Wizard
            macros
            event loops
    radio tone generator/decoder
        to remotely control the ring
